What I am looking for is not out there, it is in me.

Just Another Day

A semi-productive day like today deserved a post. I finally was able to take time out of my schedule and go shopping! The only store I allowed myself to shop at was Charlotte Russe, due to the fact that they were having a sale and all my money gets spent shopping. More then half the store was on clearance, and it's because they're making way for their new shipments! I'm excited to see what they have to offer once that truck pulls into the back of the store, and the boxes and boxes of fabulous clothes start to be unloaded, patiently waiting for spot on a rack. Shopping isn't the only "past time" I enjoy.
I believe that every lady should keep some sort of "old fashioned" values with her. Whether it's cooking, sewing, speaking, dressing, some values should stay imprinted in every generation. Cooking is something everyone should learn just to sustain their health. You might be wondering why I'm not "cooking in style," & the answer is I am! Sweats never go out of style no matter how many decades pass! Cooking can get very messy, so you never want to cook in a good outfit. I do not care what advertisements show you or promote, cooking in good clothes is never a great idea! Oils can get spilled, your favorite shirt could get stained, and there's no hope in reviving it, wearing it again, or buying another one! Clothes also soak in all smells around them, so if a shirt picks up a smell while it's cooking, it's the worst. If you're all that in love with clothing like I, taking precautions to not ruin your clothing is a good way to keep your outfits in amazing conditions.
You'll also see me listening to music while drawing and practicing my sketching. You need to have some type of drawing ability to be a designer, at least a good one anyway. :)

Nuetral Expressions

I know we're in summer, but not everyone is a summer. You might be asking what that means, and it's simply "The fact that we are all a different season." Depending our hair color, skin tone, eye color, etc., we all fit into a category of a particular season. Now, why is this important? Well, it's important because it gets rid of the wonder of "Why does that outfit look so good on her, yet so not good on me?" Now you don't have to ponder and regret the way your body looks, or your height, etc. Your solution is the season color real. Everyone falls into the category Summer, Autumn, Winter, or Spring, and each season holds a color real on which colors look best on you, and which colors enhance your stunning features.
This evening, I chose to go with a very neutral color which was beige and brown. I'm an Autumn, so these colors look great against my skin tone and my hair color. To dress more casual, I decided to wear jeans, even though I'm not a jean fanatic. These light beige heels made the outfit come together, by making it more then casual and less then dressy; this outfit was great for an evening out at the movies.
I also got my car back, and found out that I need knew tires. Time to start saving up, so my baby can get a new set of wheels.
I hope you enjoy. :)

Things are Just Peachy, When the Sky is Blue

In todays sunny climate, it was scorching! Having to run errands, I needed to feel free from restrictions and feel whatever little breeze I can while walking around the town. As I stepped into my closet this morning, I was undecided by what to wear. Do I wear shorts, yet again? Do I wear those beautiful strappy sandals? Or how about that cute, bubbly skirt that has yet to be out of the house? I was so undecided on what to wear, I was ready to give up. Until, I turned, and my eyes caught sight of the bright blue that was hidden behind a row of dresses. It dawned on me that I haven't worn this dress in ages, and today would be the perfect time to take it out for some sunlight and fresh air. Big accessories were out of the question today, just because I wanted an outfit with a bit more leniency. I wanted to be playful, so I decided wooden bracelets would be my best option. To finish the look, I added my gladiator, nude sandals, and my natural curly hair to boot. It was the perfect summer outfit, with a touch of simplicity.

- Today, I went to a book store to see if they had those books I was talking about in the previous post. They didn't, but I did find two equally appealing books that I decided to buy instead. I also gave in my baby. For those of you that don't know, my baby is my car. The breaks are acting up, so I had to give it in today. Hopefully by tomorrow, it'll be back with me, and we'll be reunited!
Well, enjoy!

To Be or Not to Be

"What should I study when I enter college," is the question that's been haunting my very thoughts ever since I stepped into High School. As my senior year draws closer, I need to start fully thinking about my talents and what I envision myself doing 20 years from now.
At first, I was completely irrational and just wanted to head to New York and take life as it gets handed to me, but to be honest, that's not the rational choice. Florida has been my temporary home for years now, and three more years will give me the experience to create a portfolio, improve my drawing/ sketching skills, and take more courses in colors, lighting, sewing, etc.
You've guys probably guessed it, I would love to be a fashion designer, preferably with my own label. I'm one of those girls that know I want to do more then one thing. I'm a girl that enjoys multitasking. I'm a girl that takes stress and changes it into time well spent creating a master piece. I'm one of those girls that has big aspirations and when my heart is set on it, I'm not easily able to give up.
Fashion designing would be my dream job, and I'm starting early (according to most people).
These books are at the top of my list to get ahead in life, and they provide insight on how to enhance my techniques as well as how to build and create my own style.
In addition to the books I'm displaying here, I'm also displaying some of my drawings as well as a recent assignment that I worked on last semester in my photo class.
Enjoy!
